A blended learning package combining a face to face induction session with a short eLearning programme, which aims to get student governors "board-ready" earlier in their term of office. The programme will introduce governors to their role, the current FE sector context and focus on developing personal organisation and confidence. The programme is fully-funded and supported by ETF and completely free for student governors.

The course will focus on the current DfE policy and SFA processes for SEND provision and good practice in meeting SEND learners' needs. It will outline the findings of research into current provision, challenges providers have faced in securing funding for SEND learners and examples of good practice. It will allow leaders of ACL to: understand better the policy landscape; apply this to their own provision for SEND learners; and discuss how to implement and build on the examples of good practice.

This training event will explore the implications of skills devolution in the third sector for organisations that work in partnership with prime contract holders. Many local authority adult learning services work with community organisations to reach those residents furthest from the workplace. Sub -contracting arrangements are also in place to deliver skills provision including apprenticeships and vocational qualifications.
