Digital Skills Enhancement Programme

This course will show learners how to use some of the leading Virtual Meeting Technologies, including; Skype, Zoom, GoToMeeting, Big Blue Button and Google Hangouts. You will see how online teaching can be used in teaching, learning and assessment for Maths, English and Vocational learners.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at teachers, trainers and assessors in the learning and skills sector who would like to integrate online meeting technologies into their delivery strategies. 

Training aim

The aim of this course is to understand what Virtual Meeting Technologies are and why they are effective and understand how they can be used in teaching, learning and assessment.


You will have the knowledge and confidence to:

  • understand how virtual meeting technologies are beneficial to teaching, learning and assessment
  • understand how to effectively use a broad range of virtual meeting technologies
  • ascertain which Virtual Meeting Technologies will be useful to you and how you can integrate them accordingly
  • understand how Maths, English and Vocational learners can benefit from online teaching. 

Length of the course

Each course will be five guided learning hours and will include an induction webinar of one hour and a follow-up online meeting. The course will be online and will incorporate a student-made video as stimulus material. The course will last for four weeks.

You need to be delivering learning in an educational and training setting to ensure that you can benefit from the course.
