Develop your organisational safeguarding culture, management and practice (Code: C1128)
Do you want to develop a supportive safeguarding culture in your organisation?
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to help you lead or support change to do this. With content developed by experienced authors from safeguarding, mentoring, leadership and change management within the FE and training sector, the six hour online course is delivered online on the FutureLearn platform allowing you to learn when it's convenient for you and to share thoughts and experience with other learners.
Who is this for?
The course is primarily aimed at DSLs (Designated Safeguarding Leads) within the FE and training sector, but will also be relevant for those who work in the field of safeguarding, supporting the DSL in their organisation.
This course will assist you in developing a supportive safeguarding culture within your organisation, building the confidence and competence of colleagues by using mentoring and coaching skills.
We will also cover the theory around leadership and change management to assist you in developing an outstanding and supportive culture of safeguarding.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Apply mentoring and coaching skills to best support safeguarding colleagues
- Understand and develop your own leadership style and how you can use this to lead and develop a culture of safeguarding
- Work with others to influence a positive safeguarding change
The course is two weeks long and there will be up to three hours of learning each week as a minimum. You can increase this by taking more time on the downloadable activities, connecting with peers, or spending time on extra resources - it's really up to you.
