Imagining better outcomes for learners with SEND - EHCP Series - workshop 1 (Code: C1136)

Barney Angliss (Consultant in Special Educational Needs & Disability), the DCG project team at the ETF's Centre for Excellence in SEND and our Local Authority Teams will be working together to host a series of EHCP focussed sessions.

Imagining Better Outcomes for Young People with SEND

  • What do we know about outcomes for 16-19 learners with EHCPs?
  • What does research tell us about the reasons for these outcomes?
  • ... So what is the function of outcomes in section E of an EHCP?
  • ... and why can't outcomes be appealed?

Who is this for?

Anyone who is interested in making Education, Health and Care Plans work for learners.

Training aim

To generate discussion and take the opportunity to learn from Barney and Local Authority teams on how we can collaborate to  co-create further good practice sessions and resources.

Ultimately the aim is to provide excellent curriculum experiences for our students, unlock progression and aspirations. Whether that is to start work, an apprenticeship, a T Level or Higher Education.

Outcomes

To discuss and review what EHCP outcomes can look and feel like to enable aspirations for progression and enable our learners to achieve.

To review research and guidance to enable those with EHCP responsibilities to evaluate their work and come together in further Community of Practice sessions to realise better outcomes for our learners.
