Key factors in individual maths lesson planning (Code: C1251)

This interactive course will support all practitioners delivering substantial maths content in how approaches to planning can support deeper learning and develop learner engagement. It will include how the use of resources can be maximised and enable participants to gain a greater awareness of how they put together a lesson plan impacts on the learning that does or does not take place.

Who is this for?

This course is for teachers and other practitioners delivering GCSE maths and Functional skills maths in the Further Education and Training sector. It may also be of interest to staff who are teaching T levels with a substantial mathematical component.

Training aim

To embed the fundamental principles of teaching in lesson planning, so you can sequence lessons and maximise the use of resources and their impact.

Outcomes

On this course you will:

  • reflect on the fundamental principles of teaching
  • consider how to sequence lessons to address the question "why are you doing this now?"
  • reflect on how resources are used to maximise their impact
