Helping GCSE resit learners to craft and control creative writing (Code: C1274)
GCSE English learners need to see themselves as writers who craft, manipulate and control language and structures for effect if they are to be successful in the examination's creative writing task. This course explores how teachers can support learners to make decisions and control narrative voice, structure and time for effect in their creative writing. The course activities encourage participants to try out suggestions for writing activities before using them with their learners.

To explore how teachers can support learners to see themselves as creative writers who craft, manipulate and control language and structures for effect by making decisions about narrative voice, structure and the treatment of time.
On this course, you will:
- explore strategies for supporting learners to manipulate narrative voice for control and effect
- examine ways in which narratives are structured and explore strategies to help learners structure more effectively when planning and writing for the GCSE examination
- look at ways to support learners to investigate ow they might handle the time span and tense of their creative writing
By the end of this course, you will be able to devise activities which help learners to make key decisions about their creative writing, including: narrative perspective and voice; time and tense; structure.
