This training event will focus on the devolution of skills funding and the emerging themes around effective practice already in place, the challenges that need to be addressed and the development opportunities available. It will include contributions from four combined authority areas as well a national perspective on the current progress of the devolution process.

Non-SET member: £50
This is a subsidised rate for providers that receive funding from the SFA. For providers not receiving funding the full cost is £200.

Who is this course for?

Key officers and stakeholders who are involved in the devolution of the skills budgets and planning process in Combined Authority areas, as well as a national perspective on the current progress of the devolution process.


Training aim

To raise your knowledge and awareness of the actions required to prepare for the effectiveness devolution of skills budgets and planning to Combined Authority areas.


You will have the knowledge and confidence to:

  • identify effective practice and adapt to local circumstances
  • apply national policy guidelines to local developments
  • learn from challenges and issues experienced in other areas
  • be aware of further development opportunities available.

Length of the course

Two hours.

Working in a setting that will be affected by the devolution of the Adult Education Budget to Combined Authorities.
