Training aim

People with disabilities who are self-employed are sharing their experiences and journey to self-employment with attendees. A better understanding of the lived experiences of individuals will enable attendees to reflect on the skills and understanding young people will want to develop to progress into self-employment. These shared experiences are underpinned by discussion on enterprise facilitation considering the relationship between support and the entrepreneur.

Outcomes

To increase the awareness of all attendees about different types of self-employment, and the support that is available to young people who wish to enter self-employment when progressing on from college. FE providers to feel more confident when advising young people with disabilities about self-employment as a progression choice on from further education.
