Strategic Innovation for Skills: A Programme for Senior Leaders of Change (Code: C1350)
Strategic Innovation for Skills is a programme for senior leaders of change. The core purpose of the programme is to develop the leadership skills and capacity to ensure technical skills provision is responsive to labour market, employer and learner needs.
£1,500 per delegate. This includes one night’s dinner, bed and breakfast at each programme residential.
We also offer a subsidised cost of £975 for colleges with financial challenges e.g. FEC intervention, Requires Improvement/Inadequate financial health grade, ESFA Financial Notice to Improve. 25 subsidised places available.

Who is this for?
This programme is aimed at sector leaders responsible for driving strategic change in organisations. Participants may come from various backgrounds, including curriculum, quality, finance, employer engagement, business development, and marketing. Typically, participants would be expected to be working at a senior leadership level in a role with cross-organisational responsibility for change, improvement and development. The title you hold is not important; what is important is that you are in a leadership position required to implement and drive strategies that enable organisational improvement and success.
Designed with the needs of Further Education and Training leaders in mind, this programme has been developed to deliver a range of high-impact outcomes. Through the programme leaders will build a firm understanding of the key policy drivers and the direction of travel for the sector. Building on current expertise, leaders will consider how to achieve strategic alignment with the current economic, employment and social issues of today. By gaining insight to the economic and industrial climate and the operating landscape, leaders will strengthen their strategic curriculum capabilities by considering how to ensure the offer is underpinned by quality excellence whilst being responsive to local, regional and national needs.
In order to derive maximum benefit for participants and sponsoring organisations, each participant will complete an action learning project structured around sound educational research practice, to effect positive and innovative change in their organisations.
Each programme participant will be benefit from group mentoring sessions with our highly experienced programme coaches, focusing on the leadership learning emerging from the programme.
- Cohort 1 commences on Wednesday 21 September 2022 and ends on Thursday 19 January 2023
- Cohort 2 commences on Wednesday 12 October 2022 and ends on Thursday 9 February 2023
- Cohort 3 commences on Tuesday 6 December 2022 and ends on Wednesday 22 March 2023
Participants would be expected to be working at a senior leadership level in a role with cross-organisational responsibility for change, improvement and development
