The Next Stage of Devolution: are you ready for the devolution of adult education funds to Combined Authorities?

This training event will explore the implications of skills devolution in the third sector for organisations that work in partnership with prime contract holders. Many local authority adult learning services work with community organisations to reach those residents furthest from the workplace. Sub -contracting arrangements are also in place to deliver skills provision including apprenticeships and vocational qualifications.

SET member: £42.50 

Non-SET member: £50.

This is a subsidised rate for providers that receive funding from the SFA or are members of the TSNLA. Voluntary organisations that who are not members of the TSNLA can apply through their local authority adult learning service if they are working in partnership with them. TSNLA burseries are available for this course via the TSNLA website

Who is this course for?

Third Sector Chief Executives, Senior Managers, Trustees and Board members of organisations that will be affected by the devolution of the SFA Adult Education Budget to Combined Authorities.

Training aim

The purpose of this event is to provide an opportunity for third sector representatives to hear from experienced sector leaders about the planning arrangements that are currently in place for devolution, the challenges and opportunities this presents and the different approaches that are being adopted in relation to the transition process for third sector providers.


You will have the knowledge and confidence to:

  • identify actions and strategies for utilise and adapt in your own organisation and Combined Authority area
  • learn about best practice from other parts of the country
  • be aware of further development opportunities available in this area of work.

To be involved with an organisation that will be affected by the devolution of the Adult Education Budget to Combined Authorities.
