The Governors Inductions aim to help support new college governors gain a better understanding of their role and the further education sector. These events are delivered by the Association of Colleges and are free to attend.

In 2025/26 eight Governor inductions will be delivered. The first four are available for booking and a further four dates will be available to book from 1 October 2025. These events are scheduled for:

Wednesday 4 February 2026

Friday 27 February 2026

Who is this for?

The programme is best suited to new college governors or governors that have been in their role for less than 12 months and have not attended an induction before. 

Training aim

Each induction will aim to inform the learning of new board members, covering the following topics and much more:

  • The role of a governor.
  • Local and national policy.
  • The code of good governance.
  • Management and governance.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Equality and diversity.

2 hours.
