Mental Health and Wellbeing (Code: C1560)

This programme will create space for leaders to reflect on and share their journey towards self-awareness and positive mental health. Through listening, learning and leading by example, a culture shift can be embedded, starting from the top.

There will be two round table webinars to spotlight effective practice in the sector and to support dialogue on the current issues impacting FE and skills providers. The roundtable events will support the development of guidance resources to aid the development of policy and strategy documents relating to each theme.

Outcomes

During each webinar, a trusted partner organisation will share the work they are doing in this space, followed by a roundtable discussion, to understand what is already happening in FE and skills providers and what is required to develop policies and strategies relating to the theme.

Webinar one will consider how FE and skills providers can respond to the rising challenge of misogyny and violence against women and girls, through developing targeted policies and shaping their learning environments and culture.

Webinar two will create space for a conversation to reflect on the lived experience of care-experienced students in the FE and skills sector and consider how this often-invisible cohort are supported to thrive in education through meaningful mental health and wellbeing support.
