Study Programmes for SEND learners - Launch events

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

These events will be an opportunity for managers and practitioners to come together to consider how to improve study programmes for students with SEND, hear about existing SEND-related CPD resources and opportunities, and discover how to get involved in the remainder of the project including applying for funding. There will be inputs from SEND experts and a chance to share effective practice on a range of topics, including meaningful work experience, and developing English and maths skills.

  • Meaningful work experience for learners with SEND
  • Supporting students with SEND on mainstream study programmes
  • Transition year - planning an E3/L1 curriculum for students with mild to moderate learning difficulties
  • Skills competitions as a means of raising standards
  • Developing a curriculum to promote independence and successful transition out of college
  • English and maths for students with SEND on vocational programmes
  • Using Assistive Technology effectively in teaching and learning.
  • Increasing access to apprenticeships for learners with SEND.
And create clusters of providers to become involved in the project.

Length of the course
