Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at practitioners, curriculum and quality managers in the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
To provide vocational practitioners working in the engineering and manufacturing sector with practical tools and resources that enable them to apply experiential learning and problem based learning approaches in their own setting, and to effectively engage employers in curriculum development and delivery.
- Apply the experiential learning and problem based learning approaches developed by the OTLA Programme in your own organisation
- Work with employers to develop and deliver the engineering and manufacturing curriculum
- Work with leaders and colleagues to implement change in your own organisation
This course draws on the learning and practical approaches from two projects led by Lakes College, Cumbria and Derby College as part of the Education and Training Foundation's Outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLA) Technical Skills Programme.
Length of the course
One full day with pre-event task
09:30 arrival for 10:00 start - concluding at 15:30
Prior to attending you will need to complete an Activity Professional Learning Log. This will enable you to reflect on your current practice and what you want to get from the day. You should prepare to share this with colleagues.
