Annual Research Conference 2018


The ETF-SUNCETT Conference warmly welcomes all sector practitioners including teachers, researchers and education leaders who are interested in improving educational practice through educational research. At the Conference, practitioner-researchers supported by the ETFand the University of Sunderland's Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training (SUNCETT) will share findings and insights from their practice-focused research projects.

Who is this course for?

This conference is aimed at all practitioners across the sector interested in improving teaching and learning. Practitioner-researchers will share insights and findings from their research. Conference sessions will include keynote addresses, posters, presentations and conference workshops. ETF-SUNCETT practitioner researchers come from a wide rage of sector backgrounds and settings. Examples of research outputs include: Using  ICT in the classroom to develop effective dialogue with students; encouraging deeper engagement on GCSE Maths and English; using physical resources in maths with SEN Learners.

Training aim

The aim of this conference is to raise the profile of research in the sector and to disseminate and develop research outputs from the Foundation's practitioner-researcher community. 


  • Raise awareness of the Foundation's Practitioner Research Programme.
  • Encourage more sector practitioners to engage in the Foundation's Practitioner Research Programme and in research more widely 
  • Develop research knowledge, skills capacity across the sector 
  • Disseminate research outputs
