Governance Development Programme

This comprehensive training programme for college governors will when complete comprise 24 modules at core, proficient and advanced level, and will include workshops, online training, podcasts and more. Between January and March 2019, we are looking for colleges who are willing to complete pilot modules whilst in their testing phase.

The Governance Development Programme is aimed at the following:

Training aim

This programme will provide a comprehensive and structured approach to the continuous development of FE board members. Through the development and production of the Governance Development Framework (GDF) we will support board members to develop their skills, add value to their organisation, learners and wider community.

Outcomes

You will have the knowledge and confidence to:

  • fulfill your responsibilities as a governor
  • support and challenge senior leaders and the wider college organisations
  • make effective use of your professional experience in your role as a governor.

Entry Requirements

Participants must be Governors, Chairs, Clerks or Vice Chairs of FE and/or Sixth Form College Boards.
