  • Work in an organisation in one of the 12 opportunity areas (Blackpool, Bradford, Derby, Doncaster, Fenland and East Cambridgeshire, Hastings, Ipswich, Norwich, Oldham, Scarborough, Stoke, West Somerset)
  • Work in an organisation with an annual turnover of less than £500,000
  • Consider yourself to have a disability
  • Come from a Black, Asian or minority ethnic (BAME) background

This course is for teachers of English LSAs, mentors , SENCO/ALENCOs.

Training aim

This webinar will provide some practical strategies for supporting, motivating and enabling post-16 learners with SEND to achieve academic and personal success.

Outcomes

• Practical approaches to providing appropriate support for learners with SEND

• Overcoming specific barriers to learning in English, including specific techniques for developing reading and communication skills

• Supporting the embedding of English in life skills to support learners preparing for life in the community or employment

• Assessing progress and making 'reasonable adjustments'.

Length

The webinar will last between 60 and 90 minutes with time for questions.
