As part of the wider agenda to develop Further Education (FE) governance, the student governors inductions aim to support student governors in their role. These events are supported by the Education and Training Foundation, facilitated by Association of Colleges and are free to attend.

Who is this for?

This course is suited to student governors. 

Training aim

Each student governor induction will support student governors in fulfilling their roles by aiming to improve understanding of the FE sector landscape and ensure that they are made aware of their importance to the board.

Outcomes

Each student governor induction will aim to inform the learning of new board members, covering the following topics:

  • Board responsibility and accountability.
  • Inspection and quality.
  • Specifics of the student governor role compared to other board roles.
  • Confidence building & public speaking.
