SEND and neurodiversity: approaches to support maths and English learners (Code: C0756)
This course focuses on practical strategies and reasonable adjustments for supporting learners with SEND on maths and English courses. It builds on the social model of disability in so far as it is the barriers created by attitudes or the physical environment that disable an individual, rather than their impairment or condition.

This course aims to review practical strategies and reasonable adjustments for supporting SEND and neurodiverse learners on maths and English courses or being supported to develop maths and English abilities on vocational and technical programmes.
You will have the knowledge and confidence to:
- define the meaning of SEND Inclusion
- review current thinking and research on SEND
- join a discussion on current thinking on Neurodiversity
- assess the criteria for successfully supporting learners with SEND.
This is a blended learning course, which consists of two 90-minute live sessions and self-led learning between them. The live sessions are one week apart, giving you a week to complete the mid-course tasks.
