Approaches to supporting the diverse needs of maths and English learners (Code: C0882)
Drawing on lessons learnt from lockdown, this course focuses on supporting differentiation on maths and English courses, in terms of learners' prior knowledge and experience of their subject, through non-linear curriculum planning and meeting the needs of learners with different levels of self-belief and resilience.

Drawing on lessons learnt from lockdown, this course aims to develop participants' awareness of practical approaches to address differentiation with maths and English learners. This course also offers the opportunity for practitioners from a variety of organisations, to share resources and best practice.
You will have the knowledge and confidence to:
- Identify how to design non-linear curricula that enable learners to make progress from different starting points in maths and English.
- Design differentiated teaching, learning and assessment activities that enable learners to make personal progress.
- Support learners to develop self-belief and resilience through the use of coaching strategies.
This is a blended learning course, which consists of two 2-hour live sessions and self-led learning between them. The live sessions will be held at least one week apart, giving you a week to complete the mid-course tasks.
