This interactive course will explore a range of strategies and activities designed to support learners during the formative stages of the writing process. These will include teacher modelling, collaborative writing and activities which help learners revise and refine their writing.

This course is for teachers who teach GCSE, Functional Skills English or other teachers and support staff who need to support the development of learners' English skills.

Outcomes
On this course, you will:
- explore why learners can find writing so difficult and how these difficulties might be overcome
- investigate a number of different strategies and activities to support learners during the formative stages of the writing process
- explore a selection of activities designed to help learners revise and refine their writing.
By the end of this course, you will be able to plan learning opportunities which encourage learners to experiment with different approaches to writing and reflect on which work best for them.
