This course is for teachers and other practitioners delivering GCSE maths, Functional Skills maths, T levels or vocational courses in the Further Education and Training sector. It will also be of interest to staff who want to know more about the assessment process.

This course aims to provide you with an understanding of the nature of different types of assessment and their interconnected roles. You will be supported in developing a range of assessment strategies, approaches, and activities.
Outcomes
On this course, you will:
- identify what can or should be assessed as part of the initial and diagnostic assessment process
- investigate using learners' mistakes and misconceptions in promoting long-term learning
- consider the importance of learners' maths experiences and how these might impact their learning
- reflect on the balance between individual and group priorities for learning.
