The over and under representation of learners from ethnic minorities with SEND (Code: C1551)

The over representation of certain ethnic minorities amongst those with SEN shows that black learners of Caribbean heritage are more than twice as likely to be categorised as having SEMH difficulties as their white British classmates.  In addition, learners from certain Asian ethnic backgrounds are almost four times as likely to NOT receive a SpLD diagnosis.  This webinar discusses these complexities, establishing why reviewing the experiences of ethnic minority groups can assist in improving inclusivity.
