Community of Practice: Don't Limit Me - Preparing learners with SEND for adulthood (Code: C1558)

This Community of Practice group will meet monthly through MS teams. We will share best and effective practice and develop new collaborative relationships across the sector. We are committed to enabling transformational change.  The direction will also be led by the CoP participants who have high aspirations to shape the future of practice.

Who is this for?

Leaders, managers and practitioners

Training aim

The aim of the Community of Practice will be led by the participants however, key areas to explore will include: 

  • Higher education and/or employment. Exploring employment options and education pathways to meaningful careers.
  • Independent living  – enabling young people to have choice, control and freedom over their lives and the support they recieve, their accommodation and living arrangements.
  • Participating in society  - including having friends and supportive relationships, and participating in, and contributing to, the local community.
  • Maintaining good health in adult life - making healthy choices.

Outcomes

Share effective practice and be part of a group improving outcomes for learners with SEND.
