Community of Practice: Preparing learners with SEND for adulthood (Code: C1640)

This community of practice brings together professionals working with learners with SEND from across the FE sector. Over the year, we will be facilitating a few themed discussions on a variety of different topics. Our first meeting will focus on baseline assessment. Possible topics for future discussions include transition, age-appropriate resources, and sex and relationships education. We will be relying on you to tell us what would be of most interest to you.

Who is this for?

Because our discussions are likely to be wide-ranging in nature, we anticipate that this community of practice will be of interest to people in a variety of different job roles - from SEND managers to curriculum leaders, transition managers and therapists to teaching and support staff .    

Training aim

This Community of Practice will run over the course of the year and includes:

  • Participation in themed group discussions of your choice  
  • Advice and guidance  
  • Collaboration with experts  
  • Sharing of good practice/ tools and resources  

 

Outcomes

By joining this Community of Practice you will share effective practice and be part a network of practitioners working together to improve outcomes for learners with SEND.    

Length

Over the course of the year.    

In between online meetings, members of the community of practice will be able to chat to one another, share tools and resources, seek advice and ask questions using our dedicated Teams chat and Sharepoint site .
