Information Event & Reverse Jobs Fair (Code: C1790)

The first part of this event is the Information event, employers and professionals will hear the benefits of employing young people with SEND as well as seeing case studies of our young people and the employers who are already on this journey. 

The second part is the Reserve Jobs Fair. This is an opportunity for employers with an opportunity for a long-term work experience placement to meet our learners and find out who would be a good match for their business.

Who is this for?

Information event:

Employers (with or without a current work placement available) who would like to find out the benefits of being an inclusive employer and the support available to them.

Practitioners who have an interest in SEND Employability pathways and would like to find out more about the programmes available from Hampshire County Council's Hampshire Achieves team.

Reverse Jobs Fair:

Employers with a current opportunity for one of the leaners to complete a work placement.

Please note, this part of the event is not suitable for practitioners or employers who are not able to offer a work placement now or within the near future. However you are very welcome to join us for the information event to find out more about this exciting opportunity to support future recruitment needs.

 

 

Training aim

Information event:

  • Promoting inclusivity of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the workforce.   
  • Sharing the Business Case for engagement. 
  • Promoting partnership working between employers, young people and education providers to create meaningful pathways to employment.
  • Sharing support available to employers to help them be more inclusive in their recruitment processes.

Reverse Jobs Fair:

  • Employers will meet with Hampshire Achieves Supported Interns to find the best match for their recruitment needs and to hear how the Skills Coach can support the intern in the workplace. 

Outcomes

Information event:

Employers will understand the benefits young people with SEND bring to their organisation, alongside the role of a Skills Coach and how they will support the learner to be successful in their work placements and what steps and support is needed to move forwards with exciting journey. 

Practitioners will find out more about the programmes on offer from Hampshire Achieves and the SEND Employability Team.

Reverse Jobs Fair:

Employers will be supported to reduce the time and cost associated with recruitment. Helped to ensure their workforce more accurately represents their community and customers. Have up to a 30-week unpaid trial period, to ensure the learner is the best person for the job rather than the best one at interview and fill recruitment and skills gaps.
