Our teachers, parents and students rely so much on ‘Learning Support Assistants’ and believe this is the only model of best practice when meeting the needs of neurodivergent individuals. However this dependency model does not enable independence nor develop the inclusive classroom. So how do we remove the ‘Velcro’ and create innovative support programmes that are sustainable for our colleges of the future?

By attending this session, you will hear about strategies and approaches from the national Centres for Excellence in SEND and the impact this has had on their students, through the voice of the students. Come along to share and help shape next steps, be it in your organisations or what we do as a collective. 
 

Outcomes

With the increase demand for support and with the introduction new national banding tariffs, how do we enable our workforce to have skills and confidence in meeting the needs of our students without the need for in-class support.
