Can-Do Maths Programme - Professional Development Training (Code: C1836)

This programme helps teachers look for ways to support their GCSE maths re-sit students in Further Education colleges and is designed to give teachers valuable tools, strategies, and support to help them effectively motivate and engage their learners. 

Teachers will take part in substantial professional development. All participating teachers and colleges are helping to add to the knowledge base about how to improve leaners’ outcomes in GCSE maths re-sit classes.

Who is this for?

Can-Do Maths is a classroom-level programme which aims to improve the engagement and resilience of 16-19-year-old learners in GCSE maths re-sit classes in Further Education colleges.   

The training sessions are specifically for the participating GCSE resit teachers in General FE colleges who have been confirmed to take part in the Can-Do Maths intervention. 

 

Training aim

The aim of these sessions is to help you become familiar with the intervention activities and the theory which informed their design, as well as to plan how you will deliver the intervention in your setting.

Attendance at the live sessions are essential for the programme evaluation requirements. 

Outcomes

The project is designed to give you valuable tools, strategies, and support to help you effectively motivate and engage your learners.  

The Can-Do Maths programme aims to benefit teachers to learn strategies that will transform their approach to teaching maths and make a difference in students’ lives.
