Effective mentoring for education practitioners  and how to become an effective mentor in further education and skills. Gives new mentors the initial knowledge, tools and strategies to enable them to support new teachers, new colleagues or even learners. Delegates will receive an invitation to join ETF's learning platform in advance of the the first session with Zoom joining instructions.

Who is this for?

This course is designed for Teachers, educators, and practitioners in the FE and Skills sector.

Training aim

Unlike other mentoring courses, this enables education practitioners to put theory into practice and identify their practice in the theory that they will explore, building a community of mentoring within their organisations.

Outcomes

Two initial sessions provide the foundation concepts and the opportunity to explore useful tools and strategies while the third follow up session is a chance to reflect on the success of the tools already used and to build on them further.  

Length

4.5 hours (3 x 90 min sessions delivered live online or face-to-face. The final session must be delivered at least 1 month after the second session.)  

Entry Requirements

Anyone within an education organisation (manager, Quality team member, teaching and  learning coach, teacher education mentor, teacher) with responsibility for mentoring peers, colleagues or new teachers.
