All Our Talents: recruitment solutions for the hospitality & catering sector (Code: C1625)

There are currently skills gaps across Hospitality and Catering in the South. This event aims to share with employers how young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can support in meeting these skills gaps, bringing new talent and skills to employers, and providing opportunities to engage with an important demographic in their communities. By joining the event they will hear from the Hospitality and Catering sector and education providers about the great joint working that has supported young people and employers to develop skills needed for the future.

Who is this for?

Employers: This event is for employers in Hospitality and Catering, looking to create an inclusive and diverse workforce. You will hear from other employers about how employing a young person with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) has helped their business meet recruitment needs, improved staff morale and saved money on recruitment costs.

Educational providers: This event is for education providers who share our passion that every young person with SEND has the right to gain meaningful employment. Join us to hear from our Employability Hubs and education providers on how they are working with employers to embed employability skills and vocational profiling from day one of the learners college journey, resulting in meaningful work outcomes.  

Professionals: Help us to 'spread the word' of the amazing talent young people with SEND have to offer the workplace and see the importance of education providers and employers working together to create these opportunities.

Training aim

  • Promoting inclusivity of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the hospitality and catering sectors.
  • Sharing the Business Case for engagement including hearing from other employers in the sector about the benefits.
  • Promoting partnership working between employers, young people and FE Colleges to create meaningful pathways to employment.
  • Sharing support networks available to employers to progress this agenda (such as the Apprenticeship Hub, Employment and Skills Hub and the SEND Employability Hub model)
  • Sharing tools and resources to support your journey to accessing the workforce of the future.

Outcomes

  • Employers will hear from their peers in the sector about the process and benefits of engaging with young people with SEND
  • Employers will be able to address any concerns or barriers they might face when engaging with young people with SEND
  • Employers will be able to appreciate the valuable recognition of the talented and skilled cohort of young people that have been previously unrecognised
  • Employers will be supported to 'Future proof' the employment and skills requirements within their sector through partnership working
  • Employers will be supported to implement work experience, Supported Internships and Apprenticeships
  • Employers will be supported to engage post 16 education providers and young people with SEND, as partners in their community to ensure they are representative
