The ETF has launched a series of Leading Innovation workshops for leaders in the FE and Training sector to support across a range of themes to promote innovation and support leaders to implement and embed projects to improve outcomes.
Both the Winter and Summer series of the Leading Innovation workshops will be delivered by sector experts, membership bodies and our trusted partners to bring you the best learning and CPD opportunities.
These one day face to face workshops cover a range of topics on the theme of Innovation.

The delegate fee for each Leading Innovation workshop is £50.

Subsidised Places
For Department for Education (DfE) funded courses there is a limited number of places offered to participants fully subsided. The fully subsidised places are fully funded by the DfE, the participant and / or their provider pay £0. These places are offered to ensure greater diversity on high quality CPD. To qualify the participant must either:
- Consider themself to have a disability.
- Come from black or minority ethnic community.
- Work in an organisation with an annual turnover of less than £500,000.

Who is this for?
This event is aimed at Adult Community Education managers in devolved areas who are responsible for building and managing relationships with MCA/LGA contacts. You will be keen to collaborate (with peers and with combined authority contacts) to share good practice, learn from others and work towards creating a shared narrative around successful partnership working in this new landscape.
The CPD has been co-designed in conjunction with Combined Authority contacts who will also be in attendance at the event. This CPD is for you if you are already working within a devolved area or are moving into a devolved area this academic year.
Training aim
Participants will:
- Be equipped with knowledge/tools/strategies to navigate the complexities of devolution and to build fruitful relationships with Combined Authorities, creating a positive impact on adult education.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the devolution background.
- Explore differing models; aiming to define a successful regional plan.
- Consider expectations of learning organisations within devolved systems.
- Consider effective management of potential tensions.
- Address personal skills required for successful relationships with Combined Authorities.
- Explore leadership styles, considering the importance of effective communication, negotiation and collaboration in this new decentralised landscape.
Outcomes
In the context of successful devolution implementation/working, the session will aim to:
- Foster innovation and promote practical solutions.
- Share insights and experiences.
- Examine staff development needs.
- Create a collective vision for a collaborative/efficient ACE sector.
- Develop a robust framework to support institutions/ensure a smooth transition.
Length
The live event will run from 10:30 to 15:00 with lunch and refreshments provided throughout the day.
