Who is this for?

This course is for teachers and other practitioners delivering GCSE maths, Functional Skills Maths and any unregulated maths courses to ESOL learners in post-16 provision, including Further Education and Training sector. 

This course is particularly suitable for:  

  • Functional Skills and GCSE Maths teachers who have ESOL learners in their classes
  • Teachers delivering non-accredited maths content to ESOL learners

  • To consider how learner profiles can inform planning and delivering maths lessons for ESOL learners
  • To identify potential barriers and opportunities for ESOL learners in maths learning

  • To identify strategies to support ESOL learners with initial, diagnostic, formative and summative assessments.
  • Plan and develop a maths curriculum that meets the needs of diverse ESOL learners  

Note:  These courses are designed to be interactive and model best practice using resources and activities tailored for both a digital and physical learning environment. Therefore, we do not offer recordings of sessions, however, we do share all materials following the course's completion.

 

Outcomes

Length

In-house delivery: 2 x 2.5 hours face-to-face or online sessions.
