A highly regarded annual event in the Staff Governors calendar. 

This long standing event on which is subsidised by the DfE and developed by the ETF in conjunction with AoC, Holex, Unison, Unite and UCU has been referred to as the must attend event for FE Staff Governors.

Who is this for?

Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges' Staff Governors.

Training aim

  • Virtually meet and network with other Staff Governors.
  • A chance to discuss issues currently affecting colleges in the context of governance.
  • Gain a greater understanding of your role as Staff Governor and how you can contribute to the governance of your college.

Outcomes

The theme for this year's event is 'Wellbeing and Inclusion in the Governance Landscape’ and we will cover a diverse array of topics such as trauma-informed leadership, the menopause and the cost of living crisis.

Confirmed speakers include Claire Snowdon Darling, the founder of Balanced Wellness and Head of College for the College of Functional Wellness; ETF Associate, Assistant Principal at Kirklees College and Chair of the National Association of Managers of Student Services, Polly Harrow; Leigh Powell of UNISON’s education and children’s services department; and Paul Bridge of UCU.

There will be a mix of break-out room sessions and plenary talks.

Therefore, this event should have something for all Staff Governors no matter on how long you have been in role.
