21/01/2020 @ Northampton - Everything you need to know about SEND funding for FE learners
Delivered by Clare Howard and David Lucas, this one-day workshop responds to requests from participants from our Essential SEND Managers' course. The workshop will explain how to use the various funding streams, provide an outline of how high needs funding, disadvantage blocks and the adult education budget can support learners with SEND including those with EHCPs. It will also provide top tips on contracting, relationships with LAs and direction of travel in high needs funding.

The workshop will include a discussion on operating in a climate of ever-changing emphasis and influence from government, changing local and national circumstances, and evolving competition and partnerships alike. It will also explore the governance roles and responsibilities, how boards can monitor progress and the crucial elements of information that a board required to enable effective monitoring and challenge.

The Understanding T Levels CPD will aim to ensure that the workforce has information about T Levels so they a) understand the implications for their role and b) can advise students (including those with SEND) effectively about their options.
Schools will be supported to increase their understanding of T Levels to ensure that teachers advising young people understand what T Levels are and what the potential benefits are.
22/01/2020 @ Workington - Introduction to Developing Embedded English, Maths and Digital in T Levels
This is a one-day, face-to-face session and is the first step in a four-part programme supporting the teaching of core English, maths and digital (EMD) skills, which are embedded in each T Level route and pathway. The session explores what is meant by developing embedded EMD and the requirements for T Levels. Participants will consider their role and develop action plans to support the development of embedded EMD, before moving on to select from three specialist e-learning modules.
